Title: I'll Love You Forever Chapter three
James, Lily, and the baby Harry say curled up in armchairs in front of the fire. James draped an arm around Lily and pulled Harry closer towards them. He leaned down and kissed Lily.
James really is a good kisser, thought Lily.
They sat comfortably like that for a few minutes, until suddenly, they heard a banging on their door.
'Who could that be at this time of night?' thought James aloud.
Suddenly the color drained from his face.
'Oh, no...Voldemort,' he said in a husky whisper.
Lily gasped, put a hand over her mouth, got up, and cuddled Harry in her arms.
James leaned down to kiss Lily and Harry one last time, wiping away the tears running down his cheeks.
'I'll love you forever,
as constant as the stars,
as brightly as the sun,
as hopefully as the moon.'
He whispered Lily's favorite poem, one he had composed himself.
The door burst open, revealing a tall figure who was grinning evilly.
James yelled desperately to Lily, 'Take Harry and run upstairs! I love you!'
'I love you too, James,' Lily whispered to James. She climbed blindly up the stairs, stopping only when she heard a sickening thump. Without even looking, she knew. James was dead.
Somehow she found her way to Harry's room. Settling dowm in the rocking chair, she started singing to him in her beautiful voice.
Voldemort entered the room.
'How sweet,' he cackled.
Lily, wiping the tears from from her eyes, told Voldemort defiantely, 'No! Take me, but don't take Harry, no!'
'As you wish,' replied Voldemort, and evil smile twisting on his face.
A few seconds later, everything went black.

(Fifteen years later, Sirius has been freed from all charges against him in the murder of Peter Pettigrew)
Sirius Black looked at the framed picture on his desk. How well he remembered that day...It was the picture of Lily and James, entangled in each others arms, the one he had taken on the day of their death.
