CHAPTER ONE
THE ANOMENES LETTER
Dear harry
Happy birthday. I hope the Dersley’s are treating you rite. Hedwig came to my house the other day. I think she wanted you to get a proper birthday present. I have enclosed a fib finder for you. You need to tern the handle on the left, then tell a lie. The light should glow red. If you tell the truth it should glow green. I hope you find a use for it. Try and meet Ron and me at the leaky cauldron two days before school starts to by are things.

Harry picked up the fib finder and said, “My mane is Rumplestilkskin.” The fib finder suddenly glowed red. “I am fifteen years old to day.” He said. It turned green. Harry smiled at his new gadget. Then he noticed three other owls sitting on top of his desk. Two cared parcels and the other one cared a letter. Harry took the parcel from the smallest owl next to him. The owl was called Pigwidgen and it belonged to Harry’s best friend Ron Weasley. He opened the parcel and a card attached to a purple quill with lots of buttons on it, fell on to his lap. He picked up the card and red:

Happy birthday, I hope this gets to you all right. Hermione wants us to meet her at the leaky cauldron two ‘o’ clock 30th of August hope you can make it. Percy has got Crouches old job so don’t mention the ministry any where near him in less you want to have your head bored of with his boasting.

Ron's present was a box of brand new berty bots every flavour beans selection. He tried one and it turned out to be frogs leg flavour so he discarded the box for now. He took the last owl’s burden off it and tore off the envelope to revile an old piece of Yellow parchment. The ink on the letter what a deep red colour, Harry had a distinct version that it was blood.
