Title: The Grave Misfortune - Chapter One-Pippin

Chapter One-Pippin

Pippin Took was a quiet hobbit, and in his years he had had many great adventures. There had been kidnappings and murder and wars, although there had been good things. He had made many new friends and beaten his enemies.
He recalled it now, as he lay on a grassy bank, not far from The Hill, outside his new home in Hobbiton.
The news had been broken to him that day, in the Green Dragon. Sandyman the Miller was still sitting sourly in his corner, but Hamfast Gamgee had recently passed away, and Sam had moved away in grief.
So now only two (Merry and Pippin) of the whole Fellowship lived in Hobbiton.
Aragorn had married Arwen and gone to live in Gondor, with Faramir as his heir.
Gandalf still roamed Middle Earth, seeking stories and adventure.
Gimli was now living in the mines.
Legolas had gone back to live in Rivendell, and had recently taken up lord Elrond's place on the throne.
Treebeard had died a few weeks ago.
Bilbo had unraveled yet another adventure and was in the East, in search of something. There had also been several letters of interest...
