Title: Prayer

Prayer 1-8-99
As I lay awake, staring off into the star-filled sky,
I breath a prayer to any god who will listen.
I pray for the stars to bless her dreams with lands of dragons and fairies,
where a knight in shining armor still rides in on a white horse to save the day.
I pray to the full moon to be her light,
as she wakes to face the world once again.
I pray to the black night not to take her away,
for I am lost without her presense.
My love for her has challenged the great romances of time,
and made the tale of Romeo and Juliet appear to be a mere crush.
I pray to any god who will listen, whether Roman, Greek, Christian, or Indian,
watch over my sleeping beauty, and give her the strength to awake,
and see the world through my eyes.
For my world is different from the world masses share.
My world is her. My world is eternity, with her beside me.
I pray to any god who will listen, make my world complete.
