Title: Understanding Me
I do understand,
That you need my words
And I try to give them often,
But I am human too
You call me a kindred spirit
So why then,
Do you treat me as something lower than you?
I understand that you need support,
But bragging is driving me away
You boast about your accomplishments,
And you belittle me
You assume you're more intelligent,
Than any others you know
What about feelings?
We all have them too
Many of us have intelligence,
It doesn't make us abnormal
Intelligence, good grades, or not,
Pain is something we all feel
The future is there for all to grasp
It doesn't take just one smart person,
To make the whole world flow
No one understands how I feel
As you constantly lower my self-esteem
By assuming that I could never understand
But I do care,
I really do
