'Well...I suppose you're right,' Ron agreed reluctantly, though he still looked slightly paler than usual. 'But if you get into trouble, don't blame me. You just told me about it - I wasn't involved.'
'I won't,' Harry assured him. He smiled. 'Just, whatever you do, don't tell Hermione. She'll scold even worse than you did.'
Ron chuckled. 'Good one, Harry. Now let's get going. Do you have your list?'
'Of course I do! The owls aren't any slower this year, you know. I got my letter as always.'
Ron laughed again. 'I lost mine - don't know what happened to it. Fred and George probably have it hidden somewhere back home. Can I use yours?'
'Sure. By the way, where is everyone else?'
'They finished already. I couldn't start yet because of my list. Mum told me to wait for you so I could borrow yours. They're at Creamy Concoctions getting cones.'
'Okay. Do you have your money yet?'
'Nope. You?'
'I don't have it either. I guess we'd better get headed for Gringotts, then.'
Ron blushed a deep shade of scarlet. 'I think you'll find - er - a surprise in my thing this year.'
Harry stared at him. 'A surprise?'
'Yeah. A change in money amount, to give you a huge hint.'
Harry grinned. 'I got it - your dad got a promotion, right?'
Ron nodded, smiling broadly. 'You got it, all right - he's now the official editor of The Daily Prophet.'
Harry was amazed. 'Wow! Doesn't he study Muggles anymore, though?'
Ron shook his head sadly. ''Fraid not. The guys at work were starting to curse him behind his back because they thought he was crazy, so Mum made him change. Now we make 12 Galleons, 5 Sickles a week.'
Harry stared at him in amazement. 'Not bad!'
Ron agreed with him wholeheartedly. 'Not bad at all.'
