Title: My love will still linger, my darling, my friend.
Once again, the door was blasted open. Lily, screaming, shielded Harry from the flames that engulfed the room. Voldemort rounded on Lily. 'Please, not Harry, please, not Harry,' Lily pleaded. 'Don't hurt Harry, please, have mercy, have mercy,' she begged.
Voldemort laughed a shrill, cold laugh that didn't suit him. 'How cute,' he teased. 'Now, out of the way, girl, stand aside.' 'NO!' Lily gasped. 'No, please, not Harry! Take me, take me instead!' Voldemort raised his wand. 'Stand aside, now, stand aside.' Lily didn't budge. 'I-said-MOVE!' Voldemort roared. Lily ran toward the open window with Harry and prepared to jump, but Voldemort got there first. 'I am TIRED of playing games with you, girl. Now, MOVE.' 'NO!' Lily screamed. She hugged Harry, then- 'AVADA KEDAVRA!' Lily fell, and Harry rolled across the floor, squealing with glee. 'That wasn't neccessary,' Voldemort said quietly to the lifeless body of Lily. 'It wasn't you I wanted... it was YOU.' Voldemort turned to Harry. 'Good-bye, Harry Potter...' Harry smiled and clapped his hands. Once more, Voldemort shouted 'Avada Kedavra'. Harry flew across the room as the house was blown to bits. Voldemort, who was completely derived of his powers by a force larger than even he, fled.
The smoldering peices of what used to be the Potter's home lay in the middle of a crater that took up half the street. Harry Potter, cold, wet, and parentless, started whimpering.
