Title: The Cats' Freedom War part 5
' Why is it so bright in here, I thought we were in a cave thing?' Max asked.
' We have old Christmas lights strung on the celling. I am geting old and my senses are not as good as they used to be so in the dark I may bump into things from time to time.'
' Why did you pull us back here?' One of the females walked up. ' If we didn't then you would have been found. They have Beagles and Blood hounds you know.'
The three cats got Tom and Max to follow them deeper into the cave. How they got electric to go through the lights was a mystery. The old tom cat sent one of the females to get food and one other to get medical supplies. ' You two look like a dog chewed you up and spat you guys out again.' the remaining girl cat said. ' What are your names and where are you from?'
' I'm Tom and this is Max. We both got in a fight with a dog and-' Max cut him short and wispered in his ear. ' You can't tell them we are spies. Just say that we were in the fight with a dog.' Carla ( the first female the tom cat sent out )returned with a small bag of cat kibble and fish. Max and Tom were starving. It felt like they had not eaten since last friday. They tried to be polite about not eating to fast but they could not help it and so they ate like wild pigs and every last scrap was gone. Once Fen returned with the health stuff Tom and Max washed out there wounds and Lena ( the female that stayed with the guys) and Big Al the tom cat helped wrap up the open cuts with bandages.
' Who are you kids workin' for?'........
