Title: Lauren's Gone! Chapter One
It was a typical day in
the park, or so it seemed to
twelve-year-old Krystin and
her also twelve sister,
Lauren. Both Krystin and
Lauren had light brown hair with
a little brown in it. They
also both had blue eyes and tan
freckles all over their
pale faces. In fact, there
was practically no difference
between the two. This was
because they were twins, and
had been born practically at
the same time. Lauren had come
out first, red-faced and loud,
wriggling furiously in her mother's
lap. The time had been 1:29 in
the morning at Oasis Hospital
in Brookland, Maine. The date had
been Thursday, August 18, 1990. It
was only five seconds later
that Krystin came out, however,
the time had changed to 1:30.
Anyway, the two girls were
walking in the park on an
unusually warm afternoon near the
end of April. They weren't in
school because it was vacation.
Krystin and Lauren did almost
everything together, though
they liked different things.
Krystin was slightly taller and
stronger than Lauren, and had a
passion for sports, particularly
basketball and tennis. She played on
the Ducvile United Basketball Team
along with fifteen other players
who liked basketball almost as
much as she did. Her best friends
on that team were Nicole, Sarah,
and Elizabeth. As for tennis, she
had competed several times in
the National Girls' Tennis
Championship. Though she had never
won first place, and it was
her dream to, a few times she
had won third. Lauren enjoyed
reading and writing, on the other
hand. Someday she dreamed of
becoming a famous author. That
was why she spent hours
locked up inside her bedroom,
working busily away at the computer.
Yes, apart from their looks, the
two girls were as different
as can be.
