Title: Myself
(This is a poem)
I have to live with myself
and so I want to be fit for myself to know
I want to be able as days go by
always to look at myself straight in the eyes
I dont want to stand with the setting sun
and hate myself for things I have done
I dont want to keep on a closet shelf
a lot of secrets about myself
and fool myself as i come and go
into thinking that no one else will know the person I really am
I dont want to dress myself in shame
I dont want to go out with my head down
I want to deserve all mans respect
and here in struggle for all fame and wealth
I want to be able to like myself
I dont want to look at myself and know that I am a bluffer an empty show
I can never hide from me
I see what others may not see
I know what others may not know
I never can fool myself and so whatever happens I will be self-respecting and guilt-free
