Title: Quests at Hogwarts
Tia reluctantly ran towards the wall of Platform 9 3/4. She was almost certain that she was soon going to discover that this really was some sort of wild setup and that she would bonk her head open on the solid brick. Frightfully, she clenched her eyes closed. Just as she reached the so-called entrance to the Hogwarts Express, a bright light shone.
Tia’s eyes flew open, and she soon discovered that she was not in the Muggle world anymore, but in the wizarding world. Steam spewed out from the coal and scarlet colored Hogwarts Express. Hundreds of witches and wizards were walking and holding conversations with others. She felt alone here, now that her parents were both on the other side of the entryway, but she knew what to do. Quietly, she walked aboard and found an empty seat.
Here I am, starting my first year at a school I never knew existed, she thought to herself. Oh sure, both of her parents were full bloods, but they had concealed it from her in order to “protect” her childhood. Never had she made anything unusual happen, so there were no hints to help her discover her true self.
Tia had been quite surprised the day she had walked outside to fetch the mail and discovered a slightly thick and heavy letter addressed to her. She had opened it outside and read it’s contents.
Dear Miss Panskin,
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
This had come to her unexpectedly, and she thought that it had really been junk mail. Immediately, she ran inside to report it to her parents. They had happily smiled and glanced at each other a few times, carefully thinking on how they would word this, for this was a vast moment.
“We wanted to save this until you had turned the proper age,” her father began. “You are now eleven and qualified to attend this school that I am sure you will have a marvelous time at. My dearest daughter, you are a witch.”
Tia had thought that he was calling her a bad thing, and felt tears forming in her eyes.
“No, no.” her mother said quickly. “It’s a good thing. You are a witch. You have magical powers running through your veins. You possess a great talent that select few are granted with. Be not afraid, Tia. Take this talent to your advantage. Learn.”
Take it to my advantage...but how? she wondered. Just then, someone had knocked on her door.
“May I sit here?” a girl with curly brown hair asked shyly.
