Title: Quests at Hogwarts 2
The two girls became acquainted and spoke for quite a while. They hadn’t realized the time and soon discovered that they were minutes away from Hogwarts. Tia found out that the girl’s name was Shelby, and that she was also starting her first year at Hogwarts.
“I knew that I was a witch my whole life,” Shelby stated. “I’m half blood. My dad’s a wizard and my mom’s a muggle. She thought he was half-crazy when he told her,” she laughed.
“I wish I had known, but my parents kept if from me. They said it was the best thing to do,” Tia said.
They stopped dead in their tracks when they saw a giant man with long, bushy hair holding up a lantern. He was at least five times the size of a normal man.
“First years come with me,” he grunted. The two girls exchanged worried looks. “Come now. There’s no reason ter be afraid.”
“I wouldn’t be so certain of that,” Tia heard Shelby mutter under her breath. Tia noticed that the gigantic man did look a tad bit friendly. He looked like he was smiling with excitement. The crowd of first years followed the giant as he walked toward boats resting at the dock of a large lake.
“Only four ter a boat allowed. No horse playing in the boats, or there will be trouble,” he instructed. The students nervously obeyed and climbed into boats with other people. Tia and Shelby were on a boat with two other girls; one with sandy hair and glasses and the other with a rather large nose and black hair.
“Er...hi. My name’s Tia Panskin. And your names’ are?” she asked, trying to strike up a conversation. The girl with sandy hair looked up timidly.
“Miranda Hayes,” she said silently, quickly glancing back down. The other girl finally glanced up and spoke.
“Yuki Xiaou. I’m Chinese. You can call me Becky, though,” she replied.
Shelby softly said, “Shelby Cambridge.” Soon after, the boats began to move. Miranda’s face went pale with alarm. They heard the colossal man shout at three boys who were trying to push someone off of their boat.
“DUCK YER HEADS!” the giant roared so that everyone could clearly hear him. One unfortunate soul jumped at the sudden yell at the wrong causing him not to duck his head in time, which resulted in him bashing his head on the firm rock. The members of his boat laughed with mirth.
