Title: Quests at Hogwarts 4
After an incredibly long wait, Becky’s time finally came. Unfortunately for Tia, she was sorted into Hufflepuff with Miranda. Tia was disappointed that she would now have to make new friends all over again. A few people had said “Congratulations” and “Well done”, but that was it. Just then, a man with a long white beard and scarlet robes stood up.
“Welcome first years. We will celebrate your arrival by singing the school song. Pick any pace you want.”
Tia didn’t have any idea what the words were. The Great Hall was swarming with the voices of students singing at any random pace. She couldn’t make out any of the words. Several other first years at the Gryffindor table looked bewildered as well.
Finally, the singing came to a halt with two red-headed boys ending the song. The white haired man wiped a tear from his eye.
He stood up straight and spoke, “Let the feast begin.”
Tia didn’t know what feast they could start if there wasn’t anything to eat, but food started to appear on the golden plates and a luscious juice took place of the empty goblets. She stared at the table in shock. Somebody beside her laughed.
“It’s all magic, but the food is real. Go ahead. You must be hungry,” a boy with black hair, glasses, and green eyes said with a smile. Tia stood still, dumbstruck.
“Er...this is unusual. I feel like I’m in a dream,” she remarked.
“That’s how it was for me when I first came here. My name’s Harry. Harry Potter. It’s nice to meet you. Those are my friends,” he said, pointing to a red-headed boy and a girl with bushy brown hair.
They waved at her, and she waved back. Wow, maybe I don’t have to worry about making friends after all, she thought. After a long feast, it was time to leave. Gryffindors followed a person called a Prefect to their common rooms. They reached a portrait of a fat lady.
“Wingardium,” the prefect said to the portrait. The fat lady nodded her head, and the portrait swung open. Tia was still confused.
She went to her dormitory with her luggage, and waited to see who her roommates would be. Three other girls walked in. Once they all became acquainted and talked for a long time, they finally retired for the day and went to bed. Tia smiled happily with the relief that she had made new friends today. She wondered what this year would bring, learning magic. Without no time at all, she fell fast asleep.
