Title: Jessica [Part Two]
I can still remember that day when she told me the news. It was a nice day with the sun shining I had my friends I played with at recess and she had hers. But we always talked during the free play time. I was drawing designs in the dirt when she walked over to me. She sat down on the bench near me and said,'Rachel, I have something I have to tell you.' I looked up and smiled at her for being so serious. 'Lighten up,Jess'', I said,'It's nice out maybe we can go up to your attic today since it's not hot out.' 'Maybe.' She replied. I looked up again and saw that something was really wrong. I got up and sat next to her. She than told me something that blew me away. I asked for her to tell me again and she whispered,'I'm gonna move' 'Your going to move?'I almost shout,'But you can't!'She looked at me and said,'We are going to S.C.'
I will always remember that day no matter how old I am. It was a day that changed my life. Everyone has a day that they grow up a little more faster than they do on others and that was mine. I'm not trying to say I left childhood behind that day, just that I grew a little more mature about what I did. I knew than that you only have a certain amount of time with people, weather it's your whole life, or weather it's a day or a year. I'm now in 8th grade and I still think about how my life would be different if she stayed in it. Would I be the different person? Would I like that person? I will never know. Me and Jess still keep in touch and we see each other every Christmas and Summer. Since that day I have made new best friends and they have come and gone and I'm as close with one girl as I was with Jess, but no one can ever replace your first best friend and I hope everyone else feels that way too.
