Though I admit it's pretty tough to beat New Orleans for seafood, I have to defend Texas. I just got back from Galveston (just south of Houston on the Gulf of Mexico), and every time I go I MUST eat shrimp and oysters, because I never have bad shrimp in Galveston. And since Houston is so close, you can't go wrong with seafood there either...there is NO bad place to eat seafood there and Houston has TONS of restaurants. But the best fried shrimp I ever had was in a tiny town near Corpus Christi called Port Aransas. I would actually be willing to drive for 7 hours (which is how long it takes from Dallas) just to eat Port A fried shrimp again...it's THAT good! :)
