It had been 3 days since Ash and Max had been staying at Ash's mom's house. Gary walked in and asked if he could speak to Ash and Max alone. He told them that Randle ageed to the battle and it was scheduled for that Wednesday. After the conversation Max finally asked Kim out. She said that the only day she was free was that Wednesday and Max agreed to go out with her that Wednesday. Later that night he realized that he had already commited to going to the battle.
