Title: I Want A Pet
It was a lovely sunny day, and Julie had to go to school. "Please let me stay home. Just today?" she pleaded. "No Dear. You have to go and learn. Wouldn't your friends miss you?" asked her Mother. "Probably. Good-bye Mum!" So she told herself not to cry. She'd get used to it.
When she arrived at school, she saw her friends talking to the teacher. She ran up to them. "What's this all about?" she asked them, "We're allowed to show Maria's guinea pig for news. She's only 9 weeks old!" replied her friend Pearl. Then the bell rang and she had to go down to her classroom. Her teacher had a meeting to go to and the kids got free time to play. Julie didn't want to play, she had other things on her mind. One was the guinea pig and the other was the stationary set she saw in her News Agent. Her Mum promised she'd buy it tomorrow so the the only thing to worry about was the guinea pig. "What a funny name" she thought. "How much would they be? Hopefully less than eight dollars because that's all I have in Pocket Money."
When the day ended, Julie walked home and asked Mum how much the guinea pigs cost. Would they be five dollars each? Could that be good? "Can I get a......." "No Dear, when your older," her mother interrupted. "But kids are meant to have them. They say that they're cute and easy to look after." she winged "No,no,no," Mum said and went to cook dinner not telling her that as well as the stationary set she would get a guinea pig. The next day, Julie was very excited because she would get a stationary set. But she still had to go to school. When she got home she got her stationary set as well as the guinea pig. Julie was delighted to see that her mother had bought the guinea pig. She then showed all of her friends. Now everyone was happy.
