Title: why does it happen?
This world is not perfect. Far from perfect, in fact, and there are so very many people living in poverty, their freedom abandoned from them, like a lolly plucked from a baby's grip. There are people and countries having war, their hearts hardening with greed and selfishness. I would have thought, though, that humanity would have realised that this egoism and terrible want for power is wrong.
Think about it. How many times have you been discriminated from your group because you are slightly different? How many times have you seen people being hurt and have their self esteem punctured? Or, and if you are one of these people, listen carefully,how many times have YOU been selfish to others?
Discrimination and prejudice in this world is wrong. In what sense has the human race to make one person the scapegoat of all crimes? And do we give any thought when we hate people and are too wrapped up in our own self-consciousness to care about others? We live in what could be a garden of peace, unspoiled by weeds of greed and discrimination and prejudice. We could make love blossom in our hearts, squashing out the hate we feel. We could grow trees of mercy and care, but at the moment, the fiery blaze of loneliness has burnt out all this. It will take a long time if we let it try to heal for itself. But-- what of this suggestion? What if we all put a helpful hand in to plant the happiness into the garden wwhich has been so severely burnt? One person can do nothing. Two can do some things But it is only with everyone helping that we can accomplish what we have only dreamed of.
But what am I in the world? you ask. What makes me so special? I can help with nothing, you say. I will say this. Imagine if everybody said that. Imagine if nobody helped with this garden, and the weeds would burst out of the ground again. Yes, you can help. Perhaps you are not in authority of the whole world. But you are definitely in charge of your own heart.
So what do you want to do? To live miserable because you have been bullied or hurt? To hate everyone and bully them yourself? OR will you choose to live in a wolrd where everyone is happy, where nobody is discriminated? I know which world I choose. I choose to live in a world where we are happy.
