BUTLER THE TALKING DOG

Chapter 3
In Town
A couple days later I and Butler were in town, someone saw us and went
up to us and asked me if I was the author of Butler the Talking Dog. I told him
yes. He asked for my autograph and left. I went to the lake and saw Corey and
Kelly. "Want to play freeze tag?" I asked. "Yeah sure!" announced Kelly. "I’ll be
it." Corey said. I went down to the beach and played freeze tag. Corey counted
to ten. "One, two, three, skip a few nine, ten! Ready or not here I come! Corey
saw me behind a rock. He came as fast as he could to me and froze me. Then
went over and froze Kelly. He picked me to be it. I counted. "One, two, nine,
ten, Ready or not here I come!’’ I went up on to the parking lot and saw Kelly
behind his car. I ran towards him I turned around and saw Corey In the lake, but I
decided to freeze Kelly first. Now I went towards Corey in the lake. He saw me
and swam up to shore. But I tagged him right before he went and defrosted
Kelly. Since Kelly hasn’t been it I picked him to be it. He counted real fast to
ten. "Ready or not here I come!" He said loudly. He didn’t have a clue that I
was on the beach but he knew Corey was on the dock. He rushed to the dock
and froze Corey. Now it was up to me to defrost Corey with out being tagged, I
said to myself that I would take the chances. I rushed on the dock, zoomed past
Kelly, and defrosted Corey! But he froze both of us in an instant. I saw Brooke
coming so we left to the Faytteville Crocs baseball game. They were playing the
Charolette Wildcats. The Wildcats weren’t good so we left. Brooke was playing
with her baby dolls With her friend Drew. Brooke was telling him about when
she had ran away. Drew didn’t care much about the story, he just wanted to
play. "Brooke, do you want to play with these stupid baby dolls, because I don’t
want to play with baby dolls I want to play with all my cool cars. Do you want to
play with my toy cars Brooke?" Well okay. "Go get them Drew." "Mommy
where’s my toy cars?" Drew asked. "In the basement honey" she said. "Thanks
Mom." Drew said. While Brooke was waiting for Drew to get his toy cars, their
dog Roxie came to Brooke and licked her. "I wish you could talk like Butler can
Roxie. Roxie barked. A couple minutes later Drew came outside with his toy
cars. "Brooke it’s time for you to come home." Dad called. Drew said by to
Brooke and went back inside with his cars. Then dad went to the lake and told
me it was time for me to go home. I said by to Corey and Kelly and went home.
We got home and Michael was there. He had his baseball cards with him. "Want
to trade baseball cards?" he asked. "Yeah okay" I said. We went in the house
and traded baseball cards. "Okay, I have a Pete Rose." I said. "I’ll trade you my
Frank Thomas for him." "Okay!" I said. "You know, Michael I’m getting bored
trading baseball cards, lets go outside and play in the fort." "Yeah sure." He
said not so excited. We went all the way outside. We ran over to the fort and
started to play. After a while we got bored. We started to play professional
baseball. His team was the Devil Rays, and mine was the Atlanta Braves. In the
bottom of the ninth the bases loaded the Braves winning by one a full count.
"And he’s out!" I called. The braves win the world series! Ten minutes later
Michael's mom came to pick him up. "By BJ!" He said. Then we headed back to
town...
