BUTLER THE TALKING DOG

Chapter 6
The Lake
Today was so hot dad volunteered to take me, Corey Kelly,
Brooke and Taylor to the Hope Mills Lake. Now Hope Mills Lake is a big lake,
but it doesn’t have much fish in it. Brooke and Taylor play in the shallow area
while I, Corey and Kelly play in the deep ends. When we were finished in the
lake and we dried off, we played hide and go seek. "Kelly you be it!" I said.
"Well Okay, here I go, One, two, skip a few twenty-nine, thirty ready or not here I
come. He didn’t see us anywhere, he only saw Brooke and Taylor. I was hiding
under the car, and Corey was hiding along the beach. First, Kelly looked in the
lake but we weren’t there. He didn’t even see Corey on the beach! Then he
looked under the car, but I wasn’t there anymore. I had all ready started to run
to base. He saw me waving at him. He wasn’t happy. Then he saw Corey start
running to base, he ran as fast as he could after him. He tagged him right in
time. "Do I have to be it?" Corey said sadly. "No!" I said with a terrific idea in
my head. "Well why’d I have to be it?" Kelly said. "Well, because you didn’t ask"
"Well what’s your so terrific idea?" Kelly said. "Well here's my idea, LETS GO
JUMP INTO THE LAKE!" I said in excited. "Great idea!" Corey and Kelly said
together. So we all jumped into the lake and made a huge splash. Hey, I’ve got
an idea, lets play under water freeze tag!" There was no answer, "No way!"
