Title: Go For It!

Backstage, I chewed my fingernails nervously. Brodie was chatting on about nothing to Michelle and Michelle was doing the same back. Zoe practiced her lines, and Jessy was running around the room panicking.
"Will you just calm down?" Lauren asked. Lauren wasn’t one of us; she was an advice giver, someone you could talk to.
"Right. Now listen, guys. You’re really good as a band. Jessy and Zoe, you just need to sing a little louder. A little louder for you too, Elise – can you stop biting your fingers? It’s getting on my nerves." I stopped.
"Michelle, stop singing Zoe’s parts. Brodie, can you lighten your voice a little? It’s a bit too deep for the part," Lauren said. "Who’s so important out there that makes you like this?"
Brodie stood. "Who do you think, Lauren? It’s just the only person in Australia that will give us a chance!"
"Yeah," I said. "He’s only known for giving 14 to 20 year old bands a chance. And do I have to remind everyone that bands only gets 1 of those chances?"
The backstage guy poked his head around the curtain. "Two more songs and you’re on," he said.
Jessica, Caitlin, Shantelle, and Stacey came in to help us with last minute stuff. Then, 2 whole songs later, we went on.
"And now," we heard the announcer say, "Now, we have an all girl band which will be playing at Randy’s for the first time." Randy’s was the name of the place we were playing at. "They’re 14 to 15 years old, and their names are Michelle Hickey, Zoe De-Hey, Brodie Ommering, Elise Bryce-Johnson and Jessy Hancock!"
We sang. I was first, so my solo didn’t go too well. Zoe faltered on a high bit in her solo. Jessy was a little low in hers. Brodie went really well, but Michelle was the best. Luckily she had most of the lines. All together, I think we sounded pretty good.
When we got backstage, we were so excited. We’d been literally waiting for this for years. We all had different opinions on how we went, but those and nothing else mattered at the moment. We’d done great!!
After all the bands like us had finished performing, we went outside and lined up. Mr. Reys, the man, joined the bands.
"I don’t think I need to tell you about chances and all that?" he asked.
"No, Mr. Reys," the groups chorused.
"For this moment call me Chris," Chris said. "I’ll name off the bands that didn’t make it. Ready?"
Nods.
"I haven’t decided who they’ll be yet. I’d like to hear a few again. And as some of you might know, I only manage 1 band at a time."
He counted them off. Soon, there were 5 left, and he called them in to hear play again.
At last, we were called in. We performed.
Afterwards, Chris talked. "It says here you have no name?"
Nods.
"Okay. I’ve thought about it: You’re hired."
Screams.
