Title: Forever Friends
Deep in the green forest there lived the Rabbit family. There was Mr. and Mrs. Rabbit and their three baby rabbits. They lived inside a large cozy hollow tree surrounded by lovely wild flowers.
The baby girl rabbit was the color of white snow. Her name was Cotton Ball Rabbit. One baby brother rabbit was white and speckled with black dots. His name was Freckles Chuck Rabbit. The other brother was black like charcoal. His name was Chocolate Pudding Rabbit.
Next door lived the Turtle family. They lived in the high grass by the pond. The pond was their swimming pool on hot days. The turtles loved to sunbathe on the rocks.
Mr. and Mrs. Turtle had four baby box turtles. The girls were called Gabby and Abby. The boys were called Snippy and Snappy. They were all very happy together.
One day Cotton, Freckles and Chocolate asked their parents if they could leave the hollow tree to go out and play. They were told yes but, stay close to home.
The three little rabbits hip, hopped and skipped around until they found themselves by a pond. There they saw four baby turtles sunbathing on a rock by the pond.
Cotton the leader of the three rabbits spoke up and said, "Hello, how are you this morning?"
Gabby the leader of the turtles replied back, "Hello to you too, we are doing just fine". Everyone introduced themselves to each other. The baby rabbits and the baby turtles observed how different they were from each other.
The rabbits were soft and fluffy while the turtles had no hair and carried a hard shell on their backs.
Freckles the spotted rabbit said, "Would you like to play tag with us"?.
Snappy replied, "We would love to, but please remember we move a bit slow".
So for the rest of the afternoon, the new friends spent their time playing a slow game of tag. The friends talked, laughed and even sang songs together.
Even though they were different from each other, they liked to do the same things.
That evening, Cotton, Freckles and Chocolate rabbit went home to tell their parents about the new friends they had made.
Gabby, Abby, Snippy and Snappy also described their day to their mom and dad. They told them of all the fun they had with their fast hopping friends.
Since then, every afternoon the baby rabbits and baby turtles gather together for a fun afternoon of play while their parents sip grass tea and snack on carrot muffins.
And as the story goes the families became Forever Friends.
