Title: Real For One Night
Every year my family and I make a halloween scarecrow at our school fair. This year was no exception. Our scarecrow was great and looked sooo real. When dad stood him up in the yard, he seemed to smile right at me.It was a weird feeling.
On halloween night I put on my superhero costume and waited for my friends. When the doorbell rang, I ran to answer it. Instead of finding my friends, there was a scarecrow boy standing at the door. He softly asked if he could join us for trick-or-treating since he was new in the neighborhood. When my friends came, I introduced them to the scarecrow boy. They laughed and teased him about his costume. Someone even said he looked familiar.
Trick-or-treating was a lot of fun and our bags were filled to the brim with candy. The scarecrow boy had the most fun of all. He danced and skipped from house to house. We were tired but he wanted to keep going! We finally decided to go back to my house. We wanted to check out our goodies and maybe make some trades. Back at my house, I noticed that the scarecrow boy wasn't with us. I had that weird feeling again. I went to the front door and saw his bag of candy on the porch. I ran out to the yard but our scarecrow was standing right where dad had put him. I took a closer look. I couldn't believe my eyes! Our scarecrow had chocolate smeared all over his face and there were candy wrappers on the ground! Oh well, magical things happen on Halloween night.
