Title: I wish I was as tall as a Giraffe!

"Are we there yet?" asked Peter with excitement. There was silence in the car, as Peter was waiting impatiently for an answer. "Mother, are we there yet?" , he asked hoping to get a reply.
Be patient, sweetie we have a couple more hours to go. "Why dont' you take a quick nap so you will be well rested", said his mother. "I'm not tired! I'm too excited to sleep."
Peter must have been tired, within five minutes he was sound asleep, cuddling his teddybear. While Peter was sleeping, he dreamt of Lions, Tigers and Bears, all the animals he would get to see at the zoo.
"Peter, Peter, wake up we're here!" his mom said in her sweet voice.
Peter opened his eyes slowly and said "we're here, mommy we're finally here, oh goody!" They got out of the car and off they went to see all the animals.
"Mommy, Mommy, look at all the animals they're so beautiful, Peter said.
He saw Lions, Tigers, Bears and much more. Kangaroos, Flamingos, a Turtle, a Panda Bear , an Alligator, a Zebra, and an Elephant.
As they kept on walking they saw Polar Bears, Penguins and evena huge Rhinoceros.
"Mommy, look over there it's a giraffe. It's taller than both of us", Peter said.
Peter just kept on staring at the giraffe in amazement. Out of nowhere Peter said, "I want one mommy!"
"You want what?" she said.
"A giraffe, I want one of my very own!"
His mother just looked at him like he was crazy. "Why do you want a giraffe of your very own?" she asked Peter. "He could help us around the house. We wouldn't have to do anyting again."
"He can hang up my clothes in the closet since I'm too short and he's tall."
"He can pick apples off a tree for me to eat and you can even make some apple pie."
"He can even help you mommy, and put the clean dishes up in the cupboard way up high where neither you or I can reach."e can even help me get down from my treehouse."
"You're silly Peter", said his mother.
"I wish I was tall", Peter said. "I can't do a lot of things like tall people can."
"Peter, I know how you feel, but everybody starts out short, and little by little you will grow taller and taller. Just like the giraffe, when he was a little baby he was small and then he grew up to be a very tall giraffe."
Peter just smiled and felt a little more at ease, but he still wanted to be as tall as the giraffe. "Will I be as tall as the giraffe someday?" asked Peter to his mother.
"Not quite that tall Peter", Mommy said. "A giraffe can get as tall as twenty feet!"
Peter's mouth dropped! "Wow, moomy, that's amazing!" Peter said. "I don't think I'll be quite that tall, but someday I'll be as tall as you mommy. I can't wait to be tall, and then I can do things that the gieaffe can do."
Peter was getting vary tired. He started rubbing his eyes and began to yawn.
"I think it's time we say goodnight to the animals and head back home", said Peter's mother.
Peter yawned again and said "O.K. , Mommy, but we have to say goodbye to the giraffe."
They started to walk to where the giraffe was, sleeping contentedly. That made Peter even more tired, seeing the giraffe sleeping.
Peter said goodnight to the giraffe and the other animals. "O.K. mother, I'm ready to go home now."
Peter started to get very sleepy-eyed. His mother picked him up and carried him to the car. Peter fell asleep in his mother's arms, thinking of all the beautiful animals he had seen that day, especially the giraffe who could do so many things.
"Someday I'll be able to do all the things a giraffe can do. Boy, I can't wait to be tall", Peter was thinking in his sleep.
Peter's mother kissed him on the forehead, put him in the backseat of the car, put a blanket over his resting body and headed home.
