Title: My Friend and I
CHAPTER 1
I had a friend named Chris. When he left, I knew from then on I would always remember him.
Chris and I had good times together. When he was happy, I was happy, when he was sad, I too was sad.
But then one day Chris left. No goodbyes. No see-ya laters either. He just, left. At first I thought he had gone on vacation. Then later I felt an emtiness after I had eaten my supper, so I decided to go to bed.
The next morning, I woke up with the same feeling, emptiness. It was strange and hard to explain, but I decided to go on with my normal life.
After I changed my clothes, I went downstairs. When I got there I heard my dad on the phone, "Yeah we'll be alright. Thanks for letting us know. Chris will be upset. Sorry about this having to happen. Alright. Bye bye."
I was hiding on the steps so my mom and dad couldn't see me from their spot in the kitchen. Then they started talking. I heard my mom start to cry softly. I couldn't quite make out what they were saying so I went to the kitchen.
CHAPTER 2
"Hey mom,dad." I said "Whats wrong mom? Is there something wrong?" Then she answered me.
She said,"Jeff, Chris isn't on a vacation. Last night, Chris was walking outside when a drunk driver ran off the road and hit him. He had no chance of running. It came out of no where.
I asked her what she was saying.
She said,"What I am saying is Chris is now in a better place. The best place there is and ever will be.
"You mean....." I said.
"Yes." She said"He died hours ago."
I didn't know what to do so I went back up to my room and looked out my window and shed some tears. I asked God why he wanted Chris and he told me it was his time. He then told me it was almost my time so 'Be Prepared.'
I told my mom the next day what God had said to me. She said," Have you asked God inton your heart yet?"I said yes.She then said,"You are prepared."
Two weeks after Chris had gone to another, better place,I went to the movies with my other friend Brandon. After my mom dropped us off, we sat there looking at the people just hanging out with their friends outside the theatre. All of a sudden I heard tires screaching and I felt scared. I turned around and saw.....
CHAPTER 3
I turned around and saw two bright lights coming right for me. I screamed as I felt the impact of the car on the side of my body. I hit the ground. Hard. Then I heard people screaming and crying. I was scared. Next I heard a voice in my heard saying,"Don't be afraid, I am with you. Peace."
I felt calm after that. Then silently I stopped breathing, and I closed my eyes for the last time. I saw a bright light. It was the light at the end of the tunnel. When I got to the end, I saw God and His huge book of names. He looked for my name and He found it! I was going to Heaven!! When I got to the gates of Heaven I saw a figure of a boy, Chris!!!! I told him how happy I was to see him. Then I asked God to make my family be O.K. He did and I look down on them this very day with my best buddy, Chris by my side.:-)
Remember: Don't waste any time with your friends. You never know when it will be your or their last day. Live everyday to the fullest, and also share God's love with your friends so you can spend eternity with them in Heaven. I would like that. Wouldn't you?
