The Cow Coat
"Isn't this cow coat so amazing", bragged Diane. "I mean it's sooooooo cool..."Yes, sure", sighed Amy, "I guess it's ok". "Who are you kidding?" said Diane, with a slightly offended tone. "I bet I'll be the only girl in school with a coat like this!"
Diane and Amy were best friends, although they were complete opposites. Diane was interested in new clothes, and Amy was presently interested in learning for the giant test in history next week. Diane would listen to blasting loud pop music, and Amy preferred classic concerts.
Diane was now dancing in front of the mirror, showing off her new coat, while Amy was trying to study for the test. "Turn off that earthquake music", said Amy. "Ok, replied Diane. "Forget it. I have to go home and baby-sit my little brother." Amy left, and Diane finished her homework. "Time for bed", shouted her father from downstairs. "Just a sec, dad", answered Diane. She tidied her room as much as she needed for reaching her bed, and laid her new coat on the chair, ready for the next day. She jumped into bed, and fell asleep immediately.
Suddenly she woke up, and heard a loud "moooo...."! She opened her eyes wide. "Ahhh..." she screamed shrilly! "Dad! Come here, quick!" What was taking her father so long, she thought to herself? Again she heard a loud "moooo". Diane thought she was going mad! Hearing 'moooos' in the middle of the night wasn't something normal!
Her dad ran into the room, his eyelids half closed, and his hair going wildly in different directions. "What happened? What is it?" "It was here and it moved... and... it.. it.. looked at me and..." Her father examined her carefully, staring at his daughter: "you must have had a bad dream". "But it was real". "Good night, pumpkin". Her father left the room. Diane was confused and upset. She laughed at herself, and just as she was about to fall asleep, she felt as if someone was looking at her. Staring... She couldn't bear the feeling, so she turned around, and the cow coat winked at her!!!
