Title: Baseball

I used to play Freshman ball
but then I rose above it all

I moved up to JV
and I found the ball hard to see

I step up to the plate, on my nerves
I dread those nasty curves

I see the pitch and I try to read
But then it comes in at top speed

The pitcher and I get into the bout
But he wins, and I strike out

After my unsuccessful at bat
I grab my gear and pounce back like a cat

I have to be ready on every play
I blew it in April, but now it's May

Three up, three down is so fun
I love when the pitcher gets it done

To the plate I go back
Just to hit a jack

I run around the bases
As I look at everybody's faces

I score the winning run
As I watch the setting sun

I hit the bomb
Now I take the hottie to the prom
