Title: Slavery
Slavery, how harsh, how cruel,
Why did they have to work like an old mule?
They grew the king cotton,
and if they didn't, they would have gotten,
a whip on their black back.
Oh, the lack
of freedom.
They tried to escape,
but thier masters went ape
and sent out dogs to find them.
If they didn't, they sent out rewards
for the slaves that were gone.
If they got past the men and the dogs, they had to dash over logs.
But some people were there to help
when everyone started to yelp
and they hid in the boards of the house
When the men came to search, they only found a mouse.
That was the Underground Railroad.
The slave hopped out of there like a toad
that just saw a fly.
So they passed by
to the next house.
Anyone who goes on the freedom train,
their masters might never see them again.
