Sometimes I feel so alone I don't know why I was ever born
I read these stories about people whose families love them and I feel so happy for them... Until I remember what MY family is like. Then I become sick.
I live with my dad, little brother, older brother and me. I don't have a pet to console me while I'm experiencing the bitter pangs of life. I don't have anyone to ask for help. I have 'friends' who I play with but I can sense a strong feeling of repulse towards me. They're polite enough not to pick on me mercilessly but they never include me in any of the things they do before discussing it quietly together. Dirty glances sometimes flash towards me but they don't know what I've been through.
My mother died when I was 4. We never talk about her. It's just to sad, they say. But I imagine her as a sweet natured lady with soft lightly freckled cheeks and sparkling eyes. That's my mum to me.
But dad is a completely different figure altogether. It almost makes me tremble just calling him dad. it seems strange.
He is imperious and strict. For the smallest things, like forgetting to put my dirty clothes in the washing basket once, comes the most terribly frightening speech anyone could listen to. His booming voice seems to resonate within my mind forever. Which means there are an awful lot of echoes in my mind now. He even has a big stick, like the ones they use in kendo, and whacks me hard for the worst things.
My only comforts are my little brother and my big brother. although my father seems a little likghter on the latter, he still understands everything I go through. So does my little brother. BUt that's all.
I'm glad I've blurted the whole story out.
