Title: Under A Red Sky-Chapter 4-Part 2
“Buffy your Mum will worry-” Buffy nodded. It was already the end of a school day so she was safe to go home. She kissed Angel goodbye and left slowly.
“See you at eight, in the cemetry?” She called and watched Angel respond. Then she ran home.
There were two messages on the answer machine when Buffy checked as soon as she came back from Angel’s home. One was from Willow, she hoped she was okay and would call later, the second was from the school saying that Buffy has been sent home ill. She deleted both of them. She sighed as she sat down and thought about what happened.
Today had been a struggle from the start, from the moment she had arrived in class up to leaving Angel. She watched her Mum come in suddenly crrying two full carrier bags of shopping.
“Hi darling.” Joyce beamed, brushing stray hazel-blonde hairs from her eyes and putting her bags on the table.
“Hi Mum. How was your day?” Buffy asked kindly as she helped unpack. “Mmm pasta, salad and even mousse! Mum who’s coming around?” She joked.
“No one dear, just you and me. Do you want to set the table it will only take ten minutes hopefully.” Buffy looked surprised but set the table silently.
“Mum I’m going out at eight.”
“Where?” Joyce’s ears pricked up and she looked alert. Buffy thought of a lie but couldn’t so she simply told her mother she was going out, but would be in safe company.
“I better get changed Mum. Bye.” Buffy kissed her Mum’s cheek and ran upstairs.
Her outfit was already laid out on her bed. A pair of faded black jeans with a red sleeveless top. She pulled on some old trainers and combed her hair into a high ponytail.
“Well this is it.” She said silently as she departed her house.
