1st year in Reffeny Old School
Chapter 1

Hiya! My name is Jesse. Jesse Suka. I'm 8 years old and I live in an ordinary sized house, with my little sister Sylvia, my mum and dad and my longhaired, multi-coloured, guinea pig Chester. I used to go to a silly, posh old school called "Manor House". But I just couldn't STICK it there!! See once, I forgot my history homework and was suspended for 2 days! I'll give you an example of a typical day :

Mrs. Wigdon: Jesse I want to talk to you about, telling you that you were to be the lead in the school play.
Me: What about it?
Mrs. Wigdon: I've changed my mind.
Me: (Me thinking "What!") I hope the new one works better Mrs. Wigdon.
Mrs. Wigdon: Excuse me?!
Me: Umm I hope the new one works just as well!
Mrs. Wigdon: That is NOT what you said YOUNG LADY!
Me: Umm…..Well…..
Mrs. Wigdon: I am giving you detention for 4 WEEKS! As your behavior has NOT improved!

See what I mean! Well at least I'm going to Reffeny now! They might appreciate the fact that I want to be a comedian when I am older!!!

Reffeny Old School, well it's a boarding school (thank goodness Manor wasn't, that would have been TORTURE!) and it's right next to the sea. So I was lucky to get in! Umm…It costs £7000 a term to stay there. BUT. I got a scholarship for running. You see I'm quite a good sprinter for an 8-year-old. Unfortunately ,my brains aren’t as good!
I'm really good in English, it's just I'm not quite so good in Science! But I'm catching on in math's (Mrs. Wigdon denies it but I know I'm getting better)!

"JESSE! Get up you lazy NINNY!"
" What?" I muttered lazily lying in bed.
"Jesse you're starting your new school today."
"O.K fine , go away now Sylvia I'm getting changed!"

I pulled on my Blue shirt, then put on my Grey tunic, tied up the Brown Sash round my waist. I had a little trouble with my tie though. And finally put on my Navy Blazer. I brushed my hair (though it still look's like a pigeon's nest) and tied up my black, flat-heeled (groan) shoes. I ran downstairs (tripping over as usual) and sat down to a quick bowl of Coco Pops.

"So honey this is you're last day here." Said Dad.
"Have you said goodbye to Chester Messy Jesse?" asked Sylvia.
"Yes!" I said through mouth-fulls of cereal.
"Oh look at the time , we must be going now" said Mum.
"But is'h only sheven o'clock!"
"Jesse, don't speak with your mouth full you're spitting milk everywhere."
"Come on Jesse, Sylvia in the car NOW!"
"O.K, BYE AGAIN CHESTER!" I shouted to him in the hallway.

"Are we nearly there yet?" I asked for the tenth time.
"No JESSE! NOW BE QUIET!"
"Sor-ry!" I said coldly.

We carried on silently for about half an hour until I broke the silence by saying:
"Are we there yet?!"
No answer.
"You guy's are ignoring my aren’t you?"
Still silence.
"Hellooooooo!" I waved my hand in front of Mum.
She didn't respond.
"La la la la la la la!"
"JESSE SHUT UP!!!!!!!!"
"Sorry I was only- LOOK IS THAT IT!"
"Oh yes Jesse look isn't it marvelous!"
"Wow my school" I thought as I looked at the wonderful white building ahead, surrounded by the sea and flowery gardens. Now if it wasn't for the HUGE sign saying "Reffeny Old School" I would have thought it was some millionaire's mansion!

We pulled up into the busy school gates. There were cars everywhere! Wow this must be one popular school!
I looked around as we tried to find somewhere to park. A few meters away I saw a tall girl in trousers, with long black hair getting out of a small, rusty brown car. But she wasn't getting out she was being pushed out. Her mum just took off out of the drive and left her to carry her cases.

We parked the car. I asked Dad if we could help her with her cases. So we walked over:
Dad said "Hello there would you like some help with those heavy cases?"
She nodded silently.
So…. Dad walked towards the main building carrying the girl's cases, mum carried mine and Sylvia walked beside them. The girl and me were left behind them to talk.

"So what's your name?"
"Alex."
"Oh hi Alex I'm Jesse."
"Nice to meet you." she said still with her head down.
"Umm…. Where's you're parents?"
"You mean mum, oh, she didn't want to get out of the car because she was on the phone."
"Oh…. So, what year are you in?"
"1st, how about you?"
"1st too."
We stopped out side the main building and opened the big wooden door. I opened the door for mum and dad; (his hands were a bit full)!
"WOW!" I said staring up at the great chandeliers and the red carpeted floors.
We trumpled along to the information lady.
"Excuse me can you sign us in please?" asked Dad.
"Oh yes, this must be…Jesse Suka?"
"And could you sign this young girl in."
"Dad her name is Alex!"
"Aha yes this must be Alex Meller!"
"Yes." Said Alex quietly.
"Well you know your dormie is just up those stairs over there." She pointed out the stairs.
"Bye honey be good!" said mum giving me a kiss on the cheek.
"See you for Christmas angel" said dad giving me a big hug.
"Bye mum, Bye dad, Sylvia look after Chester!"
