Title: 1st year in Reffeny School
Chapter 3
"Come on Jesse, Jesse get up you lazy bum!" shouted Alex.
"O.K, man you sound just like my sister!"
"Well get up, all the other's have gone for breakfast!"
"So you waited for me, that's nice of you!"
"Well Jesse you're my friend, aren’t you?"
"Of course! You're the only friend I have here. I hardly know the other's."
"He he, well get up we've got to go for breakfast!"
*
"O.K class, Daphne stop fiddling with you're hair. I have an important announcement to make."
The class went quiet.
"Well, I know it's only your second day here but the head teacher Mrs. Blake would like to say that all of the first form (all!) Are to choose certain people for jobs in the committee for our school play. We will be doing "A midsummer night's dream" by Shakespeare. And you lot are to organise it! You will choose the cast together, and you have 2 weeks time. That way you will get to know each other better."
There were a lot of excited murmurs around the class.
She went on and on about this "A midsummer night's dream." It was actually a good play but it sounded pretty boring coming from her. I really had my heart set on being mischievous little fairy Puck.
"Alex, what do you want to be?"
"Hmm…. I think I want to be Hermia!"
"Oh and class, in case you are wondering about boy parts, the Reffeny Boys school next door will be taking those."
"Cool so that’s why there is two separate buildings." I whispered to Alex.
"Yeah I've met some of them, there's a really cute lad called Jamie!"
"Girl's stop talking!"
"Sorry!" we said.
"Well enough of that let's get on with some math's, Oh before I start I have put certain people in groups. Group's A B & C. for math's and English everyday we will go down to the math's room and mix with the boys."
"Cool!" I said to Alex, a little too loud.
"Now for the group's, Group A- Alex, Gillian and Erika. Group B- Cassedy, Alanis and Deon. And Group C- Jesse, Shelly and Daphne."
I felt really gutted from then on.
"Well done Alex!"
"Awww well you should have at least got into Group B."
It was really no surprise I was in Group C, Shelly was really behind because she missed 2 years of school because of leukaemia and Daphne was just, just bad, like me!
"Well, class follow me to the math's room."
I walked solemnly out of the room with Alex.
We walked along to the math's room passing the great turquoise walls and scarlet floors to a big room with round about 20 chairs.
There were marked tables and the boys were already there. I looked at my table there was one guy with ginger hair who was picking his nose, another guy with black hair and green eyes, oh and one gorgeous boy with blond hair and Grey eyes. I walked over with Daphne and Shelley.
"So I bet you as pathetic at maths as you are at putting your tie on properly!"
"Shut up Daphne, at least I don't get on the wrong side of the teacher the second I come, oh and if brains were made out of gas you wouldn't have enough to power a motor-cycle round the outside of a penny!!!"
Daphne soon did shut up, she knew Jesse's strong, cutting, and sarcastic remarks would soon overcome her.
Jesse grabbed a seat next to the blond boy.
"Hello what's your name?"
"Hi I'm Jamie, who are you?"
"I'm Jesse, so what part of the school play are you hoping to get?"
"I'm not really into play's but I would like to be Puck!"
"Really! Me too!"
"Urrr…isn't Puck a boy's part, you'd look pretty stupid!"
WHY THAT SEXIST PIG! I've just decided I hate Jamie!
"WELL…I'm going to try for it anyway!" I said stubbornly.
He just sniggered with the ginger freak (Thomas).
"Well…said Daphne "I think I'd like to try for Hermia or Helena, Jamie."
"Yeah you'd look just the part."
"Don't worry," said the boy with black hair "I think you'd make a wonderful "Puck" Jesse."
"Awww...thanks, so what's your name?"
"My name is Shaun." He said doing an impression of a tomato.
"Hi, what part do you want to try for?"
Just at that moment Erika came round and handed us a sheet of paper with loads of questions on that looked like 5th form work!
"Yikes! I can't do this!" I squealed.
