Title: The Scientist

Chapter Five continued:
GODS OF GOOD AND EVIL
"Ronald!" Damien gave his long lost brother a tight hug. Ronald hugged back. "What have you been doing all this time?"
"I became a scientist at the age of fourteen under the influence of Larry."
"I remember him." Damien remembered all too well. Larry was one of the scientists that added chemisenza, a newly discovered chemical, to the virus cure. This chemical helped create the zinths.
"Well he taught me a lot of things over a period of ten years. Then I stumbled onto the zinth’s lair- this place. Turns out they are friendly."
"Yeah, very friendly. Nice how one of them escorted me in."
"I can’t imagine how scared you must have been. I am sorry I had to bring you in this way."
"Which reminds me- why did you bring me in?"
Ronald smiled. "To tell you something." He paused. "Come with me." He turned and walked to the door. Damien followed.
The door opened like an elevator- because it was. The inside was made of metal walls, and a button panel was next to the doors. There were some 50 options, all with numbers. There were two triangle shaped red buttons- one said LAB, the other said BASEMENT. Ronald pushed LAB.
As the elevator ascended, Ronald began a conversation. "It has been interesting living with the zinths and conducting research. I have learned tons about their anatomy, mind, way of life, technology."
"Fascinating we created them."
"Yes, very."
"What kinds of things have you learned?"
"Well, the zinth’s muscle tissue is unlike anything I have ever seen. It is extremely thin, and yet can contract and stretch with such tremendous force."
"I know," Damien was brought back to when one grabbed him.
"And they can communicate telepathically," Ronald said, rather slow. "Some can also send psychic messages to humans."
Suddenly a voice was heard inside Damien’s head. It was low, raspy, like that of a zinth. The truth will be yours, it said. It was a zinth. Damien looked at his brother with an eyebrow down. Ronald smiled as the elevator binged to a stop.
The doors slid open into a modern style laboratory. It had a white and black checkered tile floor, a sticky, blue mat pathway leading out of the elevator down into the lab, and tables with white cloth and wheels along the walls. The tables had numerous objects on them, such as alien stone, a dead zinth carcass, and one even had a ball made of zinth headpieces and had two feet made of zinth hands. The hands were smaller than that of the zinths Damien had earlier encountered. Perhaps the hands were from a child zinth. There were also advanced computer panels built into the walls. The ball of zinth heads began to twitch, and hopped onto its hand feet like a cartoon would. "Would you like to see the Head Foot?" asked Roland, rather teasing. Damien looked at it awkwardly, with some disgust.
"Uh, sure," he said. The two walked over to it, the creature’s excitement growing. Its eyes, which were sunk into one head’s jaw and another’s fore head, were white with large pupils. They were that of a dog. The eyes looked up at Ronald, as if begging. It stood on the tips of it’s had feet, and slid onto his palms. Like a dog would sit, begging for a treat. It seemed almost cute acting like this.
Almost.
