Karen, let's go!Now!Her mother yelled, running down the hall past Karen and out the door. Karen yanked at the knot, gave up and stood to her feet. Okay Joe, go on out with Mama, I gotta get my stuff! Joe nodded and ran out the door. Karen dashed down the hall and into her small room, things were scattered all over the place. She snatched her back pack up off of the dresser and ran back down the hall and out of the house. Her mother was backing out of the driveway. MAMA!WAIT!Karen screamed running after her. You get your ass in this car now and don't let me have to tell you again! She yelled, slamming on the brakes and sending Joe crashing into the back of her seat. Karen climbed out and went around to the other side, she took Joes hand and together they walked behind their mother and into the large gray building. Inside their mother walked up to a desk spoke to the woman briefly and then turned and looked at Karen and Joe, shaking her head. She walked over to them and told them to hold out their hands. They did. In Karens hand she dropped a picture of the hole family, her mom and dad, and Joe, before her dad died. All happy in front of their old house. In Joes hand she dropped a necklace, the one daddy had given her right before he died. Then, she turned away, and, without a backward glance, she left the building.
