what became of luthien and legolas, i am not going to tell, except after the third book in return of the king, legolas caught a glimpse of the sea. Once he see's it, he had never gotten over his urge to sail to valinor the homeplace of the elves, where luthien was now. Finally after the death of aragorn, he built a ship to go to the west, where he was reunited with luthien, and stayed in the west for the rest of his immortal life.
