Title: Asmir in Vienna
Asmir in Vienna
I have been reading “Asmir in Vienna” by Christobel Mattingley.
“Asmir in Vienna” was an ok book it sort of hook me from the very beginning it was a bit like the story before it “No gun for Asmir”.
Asmir did a lot of travelling and did not stop until about the middle. Asmir is the main character and has a little brother Eldar; his dad was left where he came from.
His mother helps him a lot when he misses his dad he also has an aunty and uncle.
His grandmother travels with him too.
I recommend book to about 9 years and above the text is a bit small and some is hard to understand. It is not a funny kind of a book.
The plot
This book is a true story and so is the book before it. There is a book that joins to it but I have not read it.
I can hear and smell the setting and I can feel what the author is trying to tell the reader the atmosphere the characters are in is believable.
In the story you can tell what is going to happen and when it is going to happen, the ending is all right it's like the usual.
Characters
The characters are credible and you can imagine the characters in real life. I can’t put myself in any of the characters; the characters are a lot different to me.
The relationships between the characters seem very real; Asmir and his mother are very nice to each other in the story they haven’t had a fight and Asmir and his little brother are nice to each other.
My opinion
I was hooked from the beginning but around the middle I lost interest. The book seemed like it was going forever, most of the book was about Asmir travelling around the place trying to find a home to live in.
I wouldn’t spend my pocket money on it and I wouldn’t get into trouble by hiding under the covers with it.
