Title: The Culture Tree
One day a man showed up at our house.
'Christmas has been changed!' he cried.
I raised an eyebrow.
'Are you sure?' asked my sister.
'Yes! Christmas has been changed!'
'So what do we do?' I asked.
'Children? You must run far, far away! Run!'
Mom said to run because her friend said that I should do the same thing.
I didn't know what was going on.
I found a big group of running kids so I decided to ask.
'What's going on?' I questioned.
'We don't know. Her mother,' the girl talking pointed to the girl beside her. ', told us to go all the way down this street.'
I looked down the street. It was late at night so I couldn't see a thing.
But then I saw.
It was a Christmas tree. Not an ordinary Christmas tree, either!
It was a big, gigantic Christmas tree!
It had lights hanging from it. They were different colors from different places. People from all around the country stood staring in awe at the enourmous (I don't think I spelled that right) Christmas tree.
Parents started showing up smiling proudly.
They had decorated the Christmas tree.
Mom came up to me and said, 'Stacey, that's the Culture Tree.'
I smiled and stared up at the tree.
I looked at Mom and she was smiling too.
