I looked up at Harry, then down at Ron. I looked back up at Harry, scowled and said, 'That's an empty kind of promise don't you think? I mean, how would you know? Mabey it won't be okay. What happens then?' The river overflowed. I was crying double time. Harry's eyes sparkled with tears that were being held back. He reluctanly smiled a half of a smile, then said,' I- I guess I don't know. But don't you think we should try to make the best of things?'
'What is there to be happy about?'
'Well, for one thing, Ron's not dead.'
I blinked at Harry, then looked at Ron. His chest was bloody and bare. Then I noticed that it was heaving up and down. I smiled much bigger than I had in my whole life, and started to laugh. I took off my robe and kneeled beside him. Wearing a tank top and shorts I was cold in the damp dungeon, but I was positive Ron was colder. I wrapped my robe around him and smiled. Behind me I heard Harry sniffle. Ron opened his eyes, winced, and smiled. I kissed him again and wispered into his ear,' It'll be okay, I promise.'
