Title: Pokémon Adventures! Kanto Series: Part 8
Sheldon and I, all fed and rested up, were back on their way to Viridian City. Though my mom had complained, what with it getting so late it was dangerous to be out at night, I explained to her that this was a life of a Pokémon trainer, and that he had to go. Besides, I wanted to go to McDonald's and get some fries (and Pallet Town didn't have a McDonald's). With Sheldon bounding behind me, I walking rather briskly. Which was hard to do, since the ground was quite soggy (while me, mom and Sheldon were eating, a quick thunderstorm passed through the area). It was getting quite late, indeed, and I was still about half way from the city. I didn't want to run into another Pidgey, especially if it was the same one Sheldon had beaten both times. But, when something jumped onto the path ahead of them, it wasn't a Pidgey. It was a Rattata. At first startled, I was excited at the sight of the rat-like Pokémon, for he had never encountered one before. 'Shel! Look! A Ratatt.. A Ratta... one of them rat things!' I said. I had always had trouble pronouncing the name Rattata. 'Sheldon, go!' I ordered. Sheldon approached the Rattata. Hissing the whole time, the Rattata arched his back, getting ready to spring. Sheldon positioned his feet, readying himself for his own spring forward. And, at almost the same time, both leapt at one another. But they both had the same idea. In midair, they turned around fast, smacking their tail into the other Pokémon. Both were stunned by the attack, falling to the ground roughly. 'Ir..' Sheldon murmued clambering back to his feet. 'Tackle it!' Sheldon charged at the Rattata. Before the rat knew what was coming, he took a Squirtle to the side, and was sent flying through the air, right into the deep grass. A dull thud resounded from the grass, with no other noise after that. 'I think you got it, Shel. Come on, let's go to the city.' The two started jogging off north for Viridian City.
