Title: The Secret Passage Chptr 18
We had stopped at a nearby beach and were playing in the water. Well, the humans were playing in the water. The Pokémon were at a nearby Pokémon playground. All of them except for Silver's Totodile, Squirtle, Ash's Totodile, and Misty's Staryu and Starmie.
I had decided to swim out deeper. I liked how the waves felt out here. They pulled me in, and pushed me out. Just to be safe, I was on a float. Misty was out there, too, on another float.
All of a sudden, my float tipped over and I was under water. I tried to go up, but I couldn't. Something was holding me down!
I was breathing in water. All of a sudden, I blacked out.
I woke up hours later, in a nearby Pokémon Center on an extra bed. The nurse there was good at helping sick Pokémon and people.
I sat up slowly. 'What happened?' I asked no one.
'You nearly drowned,' said Silver.
I looked over. I hadn't noticed him sitting there.
'Yeah,' said Misty, who was also there.
'Are you feeling okay?' asked Ash.
'Yes, I'm just kind of dizzy,' I said.
'We got Nick to go and get your Pokémon from the playground, and ours wanted to come too. They were worried,' Brock said.
Nick poked his head into the room. 'Your Pokémon are here . . .' he said, as my Pokémon rushed in.
'Pi-ka-chuu!' shouted Pikachu, jumping onto the bed and curling up next to me.
'Choki Choki!' cried Togepi, scrambling up onto the bed and giving me a big hug.
Pidgeot flew over and perched on the table next to the bed. 'Pid-joh.'
'Squirtle!' yelled Squirtle, putting its hands on my bed and standing there looking concerned.
Espeon crept into the room and climbed up next to me.
Finally, Butterfree flew in and rested on my head.
I laughed. 'I'm fine, guys. Don't be so worried.'
My Pokémon all heaved big sighs.
Silver smiled. 'I think maybe you should get some rest now.'
'I think so,' I said. 'But I need to know one thing. Who was holding me under the water?'
My friends and brother scowled, and said together, 'Who do you think?'
I sighed. 'Erika Elm, someday I'll get you.'
After that, Pikachu, Togepi, Espeon, and Squirtle curled up on the bed next to me . . . actually, Pikachu was on my stomach . . . and Butterfree and Pidgeot were perched on the headboard.
And as I fell asleep, I swore I could here Erika snickering somewhere in the distance.
I woke up again, very soon. Silver was sitting next to my bed.
'Hi,' I said.
