Title: The Secret Passage Chptr 18 (Con't 2)
My brain hurt. My world was spinning, and I thought I heard my mom telling me that everything would be okay. I sunk down onto my knees and let the others go ahead of me.
'Pika pikaa!' shouted Pikachu. It jumped down from my head and onto the ground. 'Pi ka chuuuuu!'
Togepi squirmed out of my back pack and got onto my lap. 'Chokpi!'
Silver and Nick came back to see why I had stopped. 'Crystal! Are you okay?!!'
I blinked so I wouldn't cry. 'I'm fine.'
'Then why are you crying?' Silver asked.
I looked up at the setting sun and remembered watching the sunset with my best friend Penny back at home. 'I'm just homesick,' I answered, choking on my words.
Nick plugged his ears with his fingers. 'LA LA!' He probably didn't want to hear about it because he was homesick too.
'Well, you live around New Bark Town, right?' Silver asked. 'Why don't you get Pidgeot to take you there?'
I started to explode. 'You don't get it, Silver! You don't understand! I don't live anywhere near Johto! I don't live near Kanto! I don't live in between them, either! I don't even live on this planet!'
Silver jumped backwards. He looked a little hurt. 'I . . . I'm sorry . . .'
I felt guilty for yelling at Silver. I jumped up. 'Nick, it's your fault! If you hadn't pushed me way back when, we never would have found the passage in the first place!'
'I don't get it,' Silver said.
'My point exactly!' I shouted. I couldn't contain myself anymore. I burst out crying and ran into the woods nearby.
I sat on a ledge at the end of the woods sobbing. 'It's not fair, Pikachu. I can't decide if I want to stay here with my new friends, or go home with my old friends and my family!'
'Pi,' said Pikachu. 'Pika. Pi.'
'No kid should have to make that kind of decision?' I asked.
'Are you okay?'
I spun around. 'Hi, Silver.' I wiped my eyes with my sleeve.
'Are you okay?'
'Yes, I'm just fine.'
'Please explain about the passage.'
I spilled the whole story . . . how Pokémon was just a TV show where I lived, how Nick and I were playing a game when Nick pushed me, how I had persuaded Nick to come with me, how in the passage we had magically gotten back packs full of stuff, how we had met Erika, how I had left Nick with the girl that became his temporary sweetheart, and how I wished I had just stayed at home.
Silver was silent. Then he said, 'I'm glad you didn't stay there. I'm glad you took your chances and came to this world.'
'Why?' I asked, hugging Pikachu tightly.
