Title: The Secret Passage Chptr 22
We didn't run into many adventures while working for our Gym Badges, so I'll just tell you about when we earned them.
First, we went to the Olivine Gym to fight the leader, Jasmine.
'Jasmine uses Steel-type Pokémon,' I stated outside of the Gym. 'Fire-types are pretty strong against Steel. So that would be a good choice of element.'
We walked into the Gym. 'Jasmine! We want to battle for a badge.'
'Okay,' Jasmine said. Jasmine had long brown hair, and she was very pretty.
If Brock were here, I thought, he'd be going crazy right about now.
'I'll be the first to battle you,' I told Jasmine, stepping forward. 'And I'll be using my Charmander.'
'And I'm using my Steelix,' Jasmine said.
'Char!' shouted Charmander. It knew what to do. It blasted Steelix with flames. Steelix instantly fainted.
'Uh, good, Charmander!' I shouted, giving my Pokémon a hug. 'You . . .'
I jumped back. 'You're evolving!'
Charmander was engulfed in flame for a moment. But then when the flame disappeared, there was a Charmeleon standing in it's place!!
'Meleon!' shouted Charmeleon.
I hugged my Pokémon again. 'You're so cool.'
'Char!' Charmeleon said. It disappeared into it's Poké Ball.
After winning the Mineral Badge, we went to Cianwood City the fight the leader of the Gym, Chuck, for the Silver Badge.
'I'll use Poliwrath!' shouted Chuck.
'Go Pikachu!' I shouted.
'Pika,' shouted Pikachu.
'Hypnosis!' Chuck cried.
'Pikachu, close your eyes and fill the Gym with your Thunder!' I commanded.
'Pi!' shouted Pikachu. It closed it's eyes. White sparks sizzled on it's cheeks as it charged up for the attack. 'Ka – chu!' The electricity filled the entire Gym. To make a long story short, when the smoke cleared, Chuck surrendered the Storm Badge.
Next, we went to Mahogany Town to fight Pryce for the Glacier Badge.
'Hello, Crystal,' Pryce said. 'I'm using Piloswine.
'Hi,' I said, surprised that he knew my name. 'I'm going to use Squirtle.'
'Piloswine, Fury Attack!' Pryce ordered.
'Squirtle, dodge and Surf!' I commanded.
'Squirt!' Squirtle dodged Piloswine's on-coming tusks. It jumped up and soaked Piloswine with a blast of water.
I hadn't realized that Piloswine was a Ground-type as well as an Ice-type. Poor Piloswine.
I grinned at my crew. 'Guys, you do realize we only need one more badge before we go to the Pokémon League, right?'
Silver pumped his arm in the air and smiled. 'I'm so excited, I could sing!'
'Don't,' I joked.
