'Jigglypuff, jiggly jigglypuff...'
I noticed that most of the crowd was snoring.
A lot of the crowd.
The majority of the crowd.
Everyone within a hearing distance except for Silver, Jigglypuff, Pikachu and I.
We looked around. Apparently, Nick had been right. It was Jigglypuff's lullaby song.
Jigglypuff sighed.
'Oh, don't be sad, Jigglypuff!' I cried. I smiled at Jigglypuff from outside the ring. 'I think your song was beautiful.
That made Jigglypuff happy. But we still had the problem of waking everyone up quickly.
I had an idea. I shook Nick awake.
'Wha-wha . . .? Mommy?' Nick asked.
'No,' I said, trying to ignore Silver's laughter. 'I need you to sing the Pokémon Trainer's song.'
Nick beamed. 'Okay!' He drew in a breath. 'I wanna beeeeeeeeeee the veeeery beeeeeeeeeeest...'
His shrill, dreadful voice woke everyone up. Fast.
'Oh, yeah,' Nick said. 'I give up. I don't want to be a wake-up call again.'
'Cool,' Silver said. He returned his Jigglypuff to it's Poké Ball and smiled at me as he climbed out of the arena. 'Looks like we're both going to be competing in the League, huh, Crystal?'
I smiled. 'Yeah. It would be great to fight you.'
We then realized that it was getting very, very late. We had done our matches, and we wanted to get home. We didn't have to watch the other matches, anyway.
I put Pikachu in my backpack and released Rapidash.
'Rapidash, you know where our rental house is, right, Rapidash?' I asked.
Rapidash nodded. It allowed Silver and I to climb on it's back. Then Rapidash tore like lightning to our rental house. I noticed it was trembling when we stopped.
'Oh, no, you're afraid of the dark, aren't you?' I asked it.
Rapidash just nodded. I put it back in it's Poké Ball and followed Silver into the house.
Terry burst into the room. 'All right, you guys! You did great! You did awesome!' She gave Silver a huge hug. After a while, he pushed her off, and she hugged me. Silver instantly pulled her off of me.
Terry stood up, beaming. 'I'm so proud of you guys.' She yawned. 'Oh. Sorry. It's getting late. You guys want to go to bed, right?'
'Pi-ka!' Pikachu said.
'Right!' Silver agreed.
I smiled. 'Yes. We just need to know where we sleep.'
Terry led us to a large room with two bathrooms, two dressers, and two bunk beds.
She smiled sheepishly. 'I hope you guys don't mind the bunk beds.'
We shook our heads. 'Not at all,' we said together.
'Togi,' Togepi gurgled from the top bunk on one of the beds.
