'Hello, Togepi!' I said happily. 'Do you and Pikachu want to share that bunk bed?'
'Togi!' Togepi smiled.
'Pika,' Pikachu curled into a ball on the bottom bunk and started snoring immediately.
'I guess we've got the other bed,' I said to Silver. I took my backpack into one of the bathrooms, and for once in almost a year, I actually got to wear pajamas instead of jeans.
I climbed into the top bunk and turned out the light.
'G'night, Silver, Pikachu, Togepi,' I said.
'Night,' Silver mumbled, just before he started snoring.
I heard everyone snoring. Silver, Pikachu, and Togepi, and I could hear Terry in the other room snoring. I was so tired. So why couldn't I get to sleep?
I decided I was nervous. I climbed down the ladder to the bunk bed and dragged a blanket down with me. Then I took a chair up to the widow's walk and sat down with the blanket around my shoulders.
I just sat there for a few hours, staring up at the stars, wondering why I was here, on this beautiful night, in a beautiful little place, and why wasn't I somewhere else? If there were other worlds, I could've just as easily ended up somewhere else, right? It was so confusing.
I heard some scraping coming from behind me. I turned around.
It was Silver, dragging a chair and a blanket up to the widow's walk like I had. He looked surprised. 'Crystal, what are you doing up here? I mean, I thought you were asleep? I mean...hi?'
'Hi.' I sighed.
'Nervous?' he asked.
'Yeah. I don't know what's wrong.'
'Hmm.'
'I've been thinking about why I ended up where I was before I came to Johto and why I ended up here and not somewhere else.'
'Huh! That is kind of confusing.' Silver set the chair next to mine and sat down beside me.
I looked back up at the sky. 'Wow, isn't the moon beautiful?'
'Well that was changing the subject!' Silver said.
I blushed. 'Yeah, but isn't it pretty?'
Silver looked at the moon. 'Yeah . . . Yeah, I guess it is.'
'You think there are aliens on the moon?'
'I think Clefairy came from the moon.'
I smiled. 'Me too.'
Silver laughed. 'I think you came from the moon, Crystal.'
'Oh in your dreams, Silver!'
That was all I said for that night, though, because I fell asleep after that.
