Title: The Secret Passage Chptr 25
I woke up the next morning to a phone ringing. I was in the top bunk again.
I yawned and stretched, then climbed down to the floor. I got dressed in the bathroom and then went into the living room.
'Morning, Silver,' I said, when I saw my friend sitting on the couch.
'Morning, Crystal,' Silver said, smiling.
'Pika pikachuuuuu!' shouted Pikachu, running into the room, with Togepi toddling over beside it.
'Good morning, Pikachu,' I said, rubbing my Pokémon's fuzzy head. 'Good morning, Togepi!' I picked up Togepi and patted it's spiky head.
'Pika pi chu?' Pikachu asked me.
'What'd it say?' Silver asked.
I was kind of confused. 'It wants to know if I have a Thunder Stone.' Then I realized what Pikachu meant. 'You mean, you want to evolve? To Raichu?'
'Ka,' Pikachu said, nodding.
'Pikachu, are you sure? I mean, once you evolve... you can never go back,' I told it.
Pikachu thought for a moment. Then it nodded. 'Ka. Pi ka.'
'Well . . . okay! I guess I don't mind if you're really sure.' I pulled a blue case out of my backpack and opened it. It had one of every evolutionary stone created inside it!
'Whoa!' Silver cried. 'Crystal, where did you get those?'
'Oh,' I said. 'A girl who was about five years old gave this to me back near Goldenrod. She said she had no use for it, and I might like it someday.'
'Weird!' Silver said.
I nodded. 'Really weird. She also said that I shouldn't evolve my Pokémon unless it told me it wanted to. Which I think is a great idea.'
'Pikachu!' Pikachu shouted impatiently.
'Oh, sorry, Pikachu!' I cried. I set the Thunder Stone, a yellow stone engraved with a lightning bolt, in front of Pikachu. The stone and Pikachu both started glowing at the same time.
When the glow was gone, the Thunder Stone had vanished and Pikachu had, too. In it's place was a larger, oranger Pokémon.
'Raichu!' Raichu shouted happily, bouncing wildly around the room on it's tail, with Togepi running behind it.
Silver and I both laughed.
'Okay, settle down, guys!' I laughed.
Togepi came over and sat on my lap. Raichu was now a bit big for my lap, so it settled for sitting beside me, instead.
Terry walked into the living room. 'The Pokémon League begins today at ten, guys. So you'd better get ready!'
Silver, Raichu, Togepi and I were scrambling wildly around the house, assembling teams of Pokémon and generally causing confusion.
Well, finally, just before ten, we had assembled our teams.
'What's your team?' Silver asked.
