Title: The Secret Passage: The Grand Finale

'Yeah,' Silver said softly.
That night, Silver and I were matched up against each other.
'May the best trainer win!' I shouted.
'Ready? FIGHT!' the judge cried.
'I choose Raichu,' I shouted.
Raichu jumped onto the battlefield.
'Go, Jolteon!' Silver cried.
'Raichu, Thunder Jolt!' I commanded.
'Jolteon, try to deflect the attack!' Silver shouted.
Raichu built up the electric shield and charged at Jolteon, who tried to dodge, but wasn't quick enough.
Raichu jumped back as Jolteon hit the ground with a thud.
'Nice!' Silver said. He recalled Jolteon. 'Go Feraligatr!'
'Return, Raichu!' I cried. 'Go, Lapras!'
'Feraligatr, Water Gun!' Silver ordered.
'You too, Lapras!'
They both fired their Water Guns at the same time. Lapras managed to crash Feraligatr into a wall, though.
'Good job,' Silver said, sounding a little nervous. He recalled Feraligatr. 'I choose Pidgeot!'
'Return, Lapras!' I cried. 'I'll use my Pidgeot, too! Go!'
Both Pokémon appeared in a flash. They both started attacking wildly!
'Hey!' I shouted. 'Wait! Stop it!'
'Stop, Pidgeot!' Silver cried. 'What do you think you're doing?!'
As I watched Silver's Pidgeot being torn up by mine, I knew what I had to do.
'Stop!' I cried. 'Stop! I give up! It's not worth it to see your Pidgeot being torn up like this! I'd rather lose all of what I've worked for than see it so hurt!'
I held out a Poké Ball. 'Return, Pidgeot!' My Pidgeot disappeared in a flash of light.
The judge stepped onto the battlefield. 'Silver's Pidgeot is badly hurt, but it still seems capable of battle. And Crystal has abandoned the field, so that makes Silver the winnder!'
The crowd cheered for Silver. I smiled at him across the arena, then walked away with Raichu at my side.
I sighed as I looked out at Johto from the widow's walk. I knew I had done the right thing. I had probably saved Silver's Pidgeot's life. So what was wrong?
A while later, Silver walked up to me. 'You didn't have to give up, you know.'
I shook my head. 'No. I did have to. Your Pidgeot would've died otherwise, probably.'
Silver kicked the ground. 'I guess now that you've completed your journey, you're going home, huh?'
I grinned. 'Completed? Silver, we're just getting started! We've got a whole other world to explore!'
'I'm glad you're coming with me.' Silver blushed. He leaned over and kissed my cheek. 'I'd miss you. And this'll be a good journey.'
I smiled. I knew that it would be.
