Title: Elizabeth
I have known Elizabeth for 5 years....which is pretty long, seeing as we are only 12. We have always thought of each other as best friends. It was well-known: Elizabeth and Jenna. We were a pair. We were halfs equaling to a whole. Until Midlle School, that is. Then everything was different.
All of a sudden, Elizabeth wanted to be popular. I had nice friends, not too popular, and not geeky. But Elizabeth wanted more. Elizabeth started sitting at the "popular" table. She was still being nice to me and everything, but it just wasn't the same. I knew I would never be like the popular people. They were even snobby at times.
That was last year. This year was a little different. Elizabeth convinced me to sit at "her" table. I became pretty good friends with them. I liked it for a while. Then I realized, I was turning into the people I "knew" I would never turn out to be. And that's when I relalized that this life would work for some people, but not for me. And that's when I relaized two things: myself, and my friends.
I don't mean to say I didn't stop being friends with Elizabeth (we are actually still very good friends), but I don't think we are as close as we used to be. But I realized that in both of our quests to find ourselves and our friends, she showed me the real me, and I will never forget that. So if you're reading this now Elizabeth, thanks. You earn it.
