Title: Finding Out Who
"Kitty! It’s time to get up!"
I yawned, my mom always woke me up like that. I’d gotten use to it.
Hello, my name is Kitty. Kitty Ozrob. Please, let me tell you a little bit about
myself: I’m 11 years old, I’m about 5’2’’, and I’ve got shoulder length, dark brown hair.
But there’s something else that you should know about me, and it’s the fact that I only live
with my mom. No, my parents aren’t divorced. My. . . father died when I was very, very
young. Yet, nobody knows who killed him.
All the cops have found out about my dad’s death is that he was killed because of some plans that he’d thought up. You see, my dad was a big business man. And he, with his partner David Perry were always trying to think up ideas for a occupation that would get them both a lot of money. And one night, my dad got a really good idea. But he didn’t tell anybody. Not even my mom. Instead, he just worked on it alone. I don’t know, maybe he was afraid that someone would steal his idea.
But, well, as soon as he showed his finished idea to Perry, well, the word got out that Andrew Ozrob had a great idea for a business, and. . . . someone didn’t want my father to use his idea. Yet, it’s still said that the person that killed my father, and stole his papers, hasn’t used them yet, because there are still a few of the plan papers that are still in my family’s possession. But if that’s true, I’ve never heard or seen any of the papers.
Enough about my father, you get the point. I only live with my mother.
Anyhow, my mom and I live in a middle-class house in Des Moines, Iowa. And the reason that we live in Iowa is because of the fact that the murder of my father took place in New York, and my mom didn’t want to stay in a noisy place like that, where crazy murderers and thieves lurk around. As she put it.
So, my mom and I live in a normal house, in a quiet state. And there was one really good thing about my mom and I coming to Iowa, and it was that if I hadn’t come to Iowa, then I wouldn’t have met my best friend, Jeanette Tirpens, who’s one year younger than me, and goes to the same school. I met Jeanette when she moved in across the street a
year or two after my mom and I came. She has very long, black, and curly hair. It’s very pretty.
