Title: Finding Out Who

Chapter 8
Well, now I was out of the bag, and I had really P.O.ed Perry. Plus, I was really
confused to top it off.
"Now listen up," he began to talk again, "I can’t think as straight as your father
could, and the death. . . your father’s killing really messed me up. And when I get scared, I
practically protect everyone but myself. I know that at least I can say that. You don’t
know what happened on the night of your father’s. . . death, do you?"
I didn’t like the pause before the word "death, but I decided to just answer Perry’s
question. I shook my head.
"Well, it was a very grousome and scary night for me. The murderer came, shot
your father while he was in the office at our old business building, and then I came into the
room to see the new idea he had called me about and been so excited for. But when I
came, I just saw your father lying motionless on the floor, and a dark figure quickly
leaving the room. I ran after the figure. It was a boy of about 22 years old, and he had
been hired, but he wouldn’t tell me by who, even though I’d caught him and had a dagger
up to his throat. I killed him. I. . . murdered another human being. And by then, your. . .
Andrew was dead. . ."
By the end of his speech, Perry’s face was white. He had begun to cry. He then
stuck his hands in front of his eyes and began to sob. I cried with him. I missed my dad,
and I could tell that it was very difficult for Perry to talk about him.
