Life on the farm is much different than life in the city.There are many things that one can do on a farm that city kids wouldn't dream about. One of my favorite activities is to go up on the hill in the fall to collect puff balls. They are alwaays hidden in the grass. Puff balls are brown ugly balls that are all dried up. They are hooked to the ground by roots. So it is very haard to get them. After we get them we always have fun making smoke. When we squeeze them, they sent out a smoky looking cloud. Almost like a smoke signal. They are light and easy to carry too. So often when we find many, we take them to the house to show our Mom. She says they are a mess and makes us take them outside. The puff balls stay good for many days so we can play smoke signals for many days afterwards.
